Why I am a Lifestyle Photographer
/Today I wanted to talk about lifestyle photography and why my art quickly developed towards this style.
Lifestyle photography is often associated with terms such as natural and unposed. This is the style that best describe my newborn photography work (although I sometimes go into a more documentary mode!).
I use natural light exclusively and my newborn sessions occur in my families’ home.
Although capturing beautiful portraits at a special time in your life is great, it is not what I am looking for through my art. I want to document where you are and how you feel in this moment in time. The way I see it, lifestyle portraiture allows me to do exactly that!
I love capturing timeless black and white portraits of my mothers and their families in their own environment; capturing their unique connections in a natural setting.
As a lifestyle newborn photographer I do not pose my newborns, as I want to document their own and unique little personality; but don’t worry I still give plenty of guidance when needed to help my families feel a bit more relaxed and so, acting more naturally.
